Hey, I'm Matteo, the founder of Boxhero, and I'm going to share the story of Boxhero with you.
A surprising discovery
It all started during a family trip to Asia, where we visited a very ancient village in Japan. This village had the particularity of having a population that lived long and seemed truly happy, seemingly living in harmony with nature, and that's where my father made a surprising discovery.
One day, my father, exhausted from travel, discovered bamboo underwear at a stand.
The material's softness, breathability, and antibacterial properties intrigued him. Trying them brought immediate comfort, and the old man's words, "Comfort from the outside in," stuck.
The bamboo boxers made a noticeable difference, keeping him cool even in the heat. His improved mood and renewed hobbies surprised me. Reflecting on how daily choices impact well-being, I discovered the overlooked influence of clothing on health.
Shockingly, major brands use synthetic fabrics for cost-cutting. Inspired by my father's positive change, I resolved to make a difference.
"I embarked on a mission"
To develop a line of bamboo boxers that would not only offer the same comfort and well-being that my father experienced but would also be produced in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.
And I was willing to do it, regardless of the high cost of bamboo and the difficulty of manufacturing compared to traditional fabric. I was willing to reduce my margins and never be able to compete with the giants of the industry.
